Forbidden City: Portrait of an Empress
I never really fancy musical in my entire life. Let alone attempting to watch one, well, at least not till Dear wanted to watch FC. For weeks since its announcement that they will be restaging the musical following its 3 yrs absence, Dear has been jumping with excitement about it eveytime he sees an ad on TV or on the streets. Well, its his dream to wanna watch it.. so i shall fulfil it!!! :P
I never thot i would enjoy it.. but to my surprise.. its really not bad... not bad AT ALL... i was smiling gleefully thruout the whole performance.. awed by the plot and props and the live musicals.. but most importantly, i was very happy coz Dear was smiling and enjoying himself thruout the performance, holdin my hands.. he LOVES it!! so do i... :)
Anyway, for those who know nothing about the musical, its a historical retelling of the story of China's Empress Dowager. The story is seen from the eyes of an American painter, Kate Carl, who is commissioned to paint the Empress's portrait. The Empress recounts her amazing journey from a young imperial concubine to become the Empress of China and the pressures she faced. The musical explores the myths surrounding her reign, from the controversial death of her only son to her ambitious tussle for power.
After the show, Dear was still very much exhilarated by the performance..haha he cant stop talking about it la!!! So i got an OST of the musical for him and he in turn got me Jay Chou's latest album!!!! Muackies.. okok.. gotta go listen to Jay liao.. CIAO!!!

Haha.. gonna do a backdated entry.
Was out with my best Bud Jess last weekend for a long awaited get together. Its been like a month since we last catch up. She has been busy with her assignments and I with work and of cos.. love life :P
Anyway, we met up for dinner at our fav. hangout.. Pan Pacific Hotel!!! :P Decided to drop by the poolside restaurant this time and ordered some food. Catch up alot on lost times, all the bitching and gossiping, and most importantly, we had a heart to heart talk on our personal lives and going-ons. So glad to know she is always there for me :)
Anyway, Josh's birthday is around the corner. Gotta plan sumthing for him real soon. But one thing is for sure, we are not having JAP food at all!!!! Hahahahaha!!
